Main features of our Income Protection plan:

  • High claims paid rate
  • In 2024, we paid 97% of claims for our fully underwritten Income Protection and 95.4% for our simplified application Income Protection
  • Short and long-term cover
  • Your client has the option to choose between our one-year or two-year short-term cover, or long-term cover which would pay a benefit until retirement.
  • Career break option
  • Of between three and 24 months, where the client’s cover and premiums are suspended, but the plan remains in-force
  • Working Person’s Benefit
  • Tops up your client’s income if they return to work on restricted duties
  • Guaranteed Insurability Option
  • Allows your client to increase their level of cover when certain life events take place
  • All medical exclusions reviewable
  • Your clients can now ask to remove medical exclusions, providing the plan has been in force for 12 months and the client has been symptom free for 12 months. Please note that this option is only available to clients who have been reviewed using the Full Health & Lifestyle Application

Simplified Application

For short-term cover applications, we now offer a simplified underwriting option where you can quote and apply in under five minutes. Provided that your client meets the following criteria, the Simplified Application option will be offered:

  • Requires short-term benefit (one or two years)
  • Maximum benefit required does not exceed £33,600 per annum
  • Does not smoke more than 12 cigarettes a day
  • Does not consume more than 25 units of alcohol per week OR been dependant on alcohol and has never been advised by a medical professional to reduce their alcohol intake.
  • In the last 10 years has not consumed more than 40 units of alcohol per week, for four or more consecutive weeks, OR been dependant on alcohol, OR been advised by a medical professional to reduce their alcohol intake.
  • Has not used cannabis within the last year and does not intend to
  • Has never used any recreational or non-prescription drugs and does not intend to

Bereavement Payment

Our Bereavement Payment is there for your client’s loved ones should the worst happen. If your client dies during the term of the plan, we will make a payment of £6,000 to offer their family support at what will surely be a difficult time.
